My motto at times like this is "if you can't beat 'em join 'em". There is no point in trying to outsmart or argue with big tech companies. Interestingly I found them to be surprisingly helpful at times. Especially when they have the opportunity to convince you to spend more on their products. So as I have embraced the digital age, I have rebranded as Vermont Country Digital. The name change signified a shift in focus from a quaint country store to a digital marketplace where anyone, anywhere, could enjoy the unique products we had to offer.
The process of setting up shop on the internet is easy - making it succeed is anything but a walk in the park. I have encountered numerous challenges, some of which felt designed to weed out those who lacked the staying power and resources to make an attractive online business work.
In college I had an advisor who mentioned my persistence, and I have persisted, and will continue to persist. My goal is to thrive in the digital world by offering attractive products at a reasonable price. Age old principles.
Many weaker attempts at internet businesses fail and never return. However, Vermont Country Digital is still here and better than ever. We've weathered the storms, and now we're poised to take on the next steps as we continue to evolve.
